Venue design for the BE KOBE MEETING held at KIITO, Design and Creative Center Kobe. Working within a limited budget, we chose paper streamers as the primary material. In the port city of Kobe, when a ship sets sail, paper streamers stretch between the departing passengers and those seeing them off — a material that evokes the city itself. Circular frames holding up the streamers are suspended by a few wires and balloons, keeping the canopies in shape. The title refers to the Paper Tube Shed we once designed together with children at this same venue.
